If you are already a Magi...
The Temple Leaders would like to make sure that everyone understands what is a
relatively new concept. We intend that any and all
activity undertaken on the Temple's behalf be considered as justification for a
promotion. Learning and applying the recruitment process remains the primary
factor in awarding promotions. However we also wish to reward those souls whose
time and effort is spent on organising events and activities in and for
the Temple, and those willing to assist the Leaders in their projects.
We ask that you make your efforts, whatever they may be, known to us via the
Temple's message boards as our sight is not all encompassing.
If you are in any doubt about what has been said here then please contact one
of the Leaders for clarification.
The Rank of Initiate
This is the first rank of the Temple. All who are new to the Temple will assume
this rank after initiation. Initiates are asked to prepare for the rank of
Novice by meeting as many of the Magi as possible. Initiates
should contact the Temple's Ministers and learn as much as they can about
the paths of Magic, after a period of some two OOC weeks, Initiates are asked
to nominate the path that they will study. Initiates are also expected to learn
and prove a knowledge of the Balance of Magics. When the Initiate has
acheived all this, they then qualify to receive their next quest.
Completing this quest will entitle them to a rise in rank to Novice, and
to receive their robes.
Initiate Goals
The Rank of Novice
Novice is the first rank of a true Magi. Novices are considered trainees
of the path that they have joined. They will spend time with the
Priests, Ministers, and Leaders, learning the ways of their path and
beginning to apply the path's charter within their lives. Should they wish,
they may also take the first step toward learning the Temple's entrance
procedure by training to interview with one of the Priests or
Leaders. Once the Novice has fully grasped the concepts within their
path charter, they become eligable to receive the quest that will ascend
their rank to Seeker.
Novice Goals
The Rank of Seeker
Seekers are full members of their path and as such, will be required to
perform the duties of that path as declared by the Temple's Ministers. Seekers
may also be qualified to perform interviews for the Temple, and should consider
getting involved in the recruitment process. Those Seekers who do wish to
participate in recruitment will be asked to learn the Temple's
mentoring process by studying with a Priest, Minister,
or Leader. Seekers are not yet qualified to mentor on their own
however, they may still mentor accompanied by a a member of rank Scholar
or higher. Those Seekers who can demonstrate a good knowledge of the mentoring
process will be awarded a quest to move to the rank of Artisan.
Seeker Goals
The Rank of Artisan
Artisans are proven members of their path and competant mentors. They are
sanctioned by the Temple to recruit on their own without any supervision
although, they are not yet sanctioned to teach other members of the Temple.
Artisans are asked to make full use of their new status with
initiative, and be active in bringing new members into the Temple.
Artisan Goals
The Rank of Scholar
Scholars are those who have gained the respect of the Temple for their
knowledge of the Tenets and Balance. They are trusted advisors to the Priests,
Ministers, and Leaders and assist in the descision making processes of
their path. Scholars are asked to make use of their status by working with the
Priesthood to improve the knowledge of the members, in particular, those
Initiates and Novices who have not yet attained a working knowledge of the
Balance. Scholars who demonstrate an ability to instruct competently on
the Tenets and Balancee become eligable to enter the Priesthood, and take
their first step towards leading their Temple.
